Redrob Extension Privacy Policy
Redrob Extension is an agentic browser extension for Chrome and Edge. Here is what stays in your browser, and what goes where.
Effective October 27, 2026
What stays in your browser
- The extension runs in your browser. It has no server or account of its own.
- Your conversations, attachments, shortcuts, custom instructions, site rules and settings are stored locally in your browser.
- Your logins and cookies never leave your browser through the extension.
- The values of password, payment-card and one-time-code fields are hidden from the AI model.
What is sent to us
Nothing. The extension has no analytics, no usage counts, no rating prompt and no uninstall survey. Connecting to Redrob Chat, which you choose, is described below.
What is sent to the providers you choose
To work, the extension sends data directly from your browser to the model providers you set up, and only to them.
- Your model provider (the Redrob gateway at console.redrob.ai by default, or Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, or a local server such as Ollama): your messages, your attachments, the content of the tabs the agent works in, and, for models that can see images, screenshots of those tabs.
- Your voice model provider (OpenAI or Google), only if you turn on voice input: the audio of each recording. Recordings are not kept.
- How a provider handles your data is governed by its own privacy policy. With a local model, the data stays on your computer.
If you connect to Redrob Chat
Only if you press Connect in Settings → Redrob Chat.
- Redrob sign-in (auth.redrob.io) signs this browser in to your Redrob account. The extension keeps the refresh token and your account’s email in your browser.
- Redrob Chat (chat-prod.redrob.ai) hands out a ticket for its relay, which passes messages between this browser and the devices you allowed. What a task sends back (its progress, the tools used, the sites visited and the answer) is end-to-end encrypted between this browser and that device; the relay cannot read it.
- Passwords and codes you type when a task asks you to sign in are never read, stored or sent.
- Disconnect in Settings forgets the sign-in.
API keys
- You provide your own API keys (a Redrob key starts with rrk_).
- Keys are stored locally in your browser and are sent only to their own provider.
- Keys are never included in exports and never written to logs.
Your control
- Delete a conversation at any time, or delete all your data in Settings → Data.
- Uninstall the extension to remove all its local data.
Changes to this policy
